About Us

JS grew up in Irmo, South Carolina where he enlisted in the Marines after high school. He served from 2006-2012 and has conducted counter-terrorism operations in the Anbar province in Iraq, and Helmund Province in Afghanistan, where he worked with a small team training a company sized Afghan National Police element His company was awarded the Presidential Unit Citation in 2010. In 2016 he graduated from the University of South Carolina with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering.  He entered a career in Project Management for a mechanical contracting company, and worked there for the next 7 years managing large scale construction projects, and worked as the training coordinator for all the company apprentice employees. 

The shop is currently located in between Orangeburg and Columbia area and stocks a wide variety of handguns, rifles, shotguns, ammunition, silencers, and accessories…most special items can be brought to the store in a couple days.

JS offers cleaning, armorer services, custom ammunition, and runs the sales floor at Sandy Run Arms & Ammo.  In his free time he likes to go backpacking, exploring the outdoors with his friends, off-roading in his 4runner, training Jiu Jitsu, and attending firearms training courses.

Kris was born in Virginia and raised in South Carolina. He has always had a love for firearms with some of his earliest memories being taught how to shoot and clean firearms. 

He attended Hargrave Military Academy and eventually graduated from Myrtle Beach in 2008. Afterwards, he entered the industrial field working as a millwright in the mining industry. 

Kris found love moving him to Charleston, SC where his now wife was finishing her graduate program at the Citadel military college. There he created, owned and operated his own welding company.  When his brother JS established Sandy Run, he couldn’t wait to join the team. 

Kris works at Sandy Run Arms & Ammo in the ammunition manufacturing department and officially joined as a co owner in 2024.  He now lives in Lexington with his wife,Chesley, and his son, Hunley. In Kris’ off time he enjoys backpacking, camping, shooting, and hanging out with his family. He plans to teach Hunley how to shoot as soon as his wife will allow it.
